- The first years of life provide the foundation for
all future experiences
- Parents are the most important teachers their children will ever have.
During the first few years of life, your
child will learn and develop faster than at any other time. As a parent,
you can give your child the kinds of early experiences that will help
him or her to grow and develop in the healthiest possible way.
During visits to your home, you will receive information
on
- Having a healthy pregnancy
- Fetal development
- Preparing for your baby's arrival
- Labor and delivery
- Infant care and feeding
- Child development (what to expect and how to help your baby learn)
- Using books with babies
and toddlers
- Other community resources available to families
Maine Families's
goal is to make your life as a parent a little easier and more satisfying,
so that you can give your child the best possible start in life.
If you live in Hancock County and are expecting or parenting your first
baby, you are invited to take part in Maine Families at no cost to you.
